Autumn Skills and Training Programme

What is it?

This Autmun we are running a 6-week baking skills programme for Lewisham Residents looking to return to work after a period of unemployment.

You’ll gain practical skills in baking and food safety, together with the opportunity to progress to an accredited qualification and work experience in a professional kitchen. Through the scheme, you will learn new skills, build your confidence and be part of a supportive environment for people who are thinking of returning to work.

What does it involve?

This is a practical programme based in a food-preparation kitchen and you will have the opportunity to take a funded Level 2 qualification in Food Hygiene if you wish, as well as gaining experience of producing food for sale to customers. However, it is not just aimed at those looking to work in the hospitality sector. If you’re looking to get out of the house, learn new skills and start thinking about returning to work, then this course may be for you. A love of food will help though!

Who is it for?

This course is open to anyone living in Lewisham who is hoping to return to work within the next year. This a voluntary programme, free of charge - but places are limited and the course begins on Tuesday 3rd September, so apply as soon as possible.

If you have any questions, or would like to speak to someone about the course, email bloom@jubileece.org.
